When I published Faith in the Fire, I was sharing a piece of my own life. It was personal, vulnerable, and rooted in experiences that shaped who I am.
My next book is something a little different.
I’m excited to share that my new Christian suspense novel, The Last Guardian, is coming soon!
I’ve always loved a good story. The kind that pulls you in, makes you think, and stays with you long after you’ve turned the last page. And while writing about faith and mental health will always be important to me, I’ve also had stories living in my imagination for years.
The Last Guardian is one of those stories.
At its heart, this book is about faith, spiritual battles, and the choices we make when we’re faced with things we don’t fully understand. It’s a story filled with suspense, mystery, and reminders that some of the greatest battles we face aren’t always the ones we can see.
But this book also carries something very personal.
Earlier this year, our family lost my brother-in-law, Jacob. After his passing, I received a coin that had belonged to him. As I continued working on this story, I realized how perfectly that coin fit into what I was writing.
It became a central piece of the book.
I hadn’t originally set out to write that connection into the story, but sometimes the smallest things carry the greatest meaning. Including Jacob’s coin felt like a way to honor him and carry a little piece of his memory into something that will hopefully touch other people.
The Last Guardian is dedicated to him.
There’s something exciting and a little nerve-racking about sharing a new kind of writing with the world. Going from a deeply personal nonfiction book to a work of fiction feels like opening another part of myself to readers.
But I’m excited for you to meet these characters, step into their world, and discover the story I’ve been working on.
I don’t have an official release date to share just yet, but I’ll be sharing more about the book in the coming weeks.
